Jim Massey has been a folk art collector for over 30 years. In 2012, he gifted his collection to Dave Clark and Lisa Piper who run the Small B&B cafe in downtown Pittsboro, with the understanding that a museum will be opened at the site. Now in fundraising mode, the Small Museum of Folk Art will be located next to the cafe. The collection comprises over 400 pieces including work by Vollis Simpson, R.A. Miller, Jimmy Lee Sudduth and Clyde Jones, supplemented by works from Clark and Piper’s collection, including pieces by Lonnie Holley, Sister Juanita Leonard and Annie Tolliver.
