Fouré's Rothéneuf Environment in Danger

  • Sharebar

Despite the hard work of Les amis de l'œuvre de l'Abbé Fouré (Friends of the work of Abbot Fouré), the carved rocks on the coastline at Rothéneuf, Brittany, are in danger. Created by the country priest Adolphe Julien Fouré (1839–1910), the granite figures are eroding and require immediate attention in order to be preserved.

The organisation wants to alert the Minister of Culture about the worrying state of the site by compiling a letter with signatures of specialists in art brut from France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, such as gallery directors, curators, journalists, artists, collectors, art critics, editors and photographers.
