September 28 – November 5, 2017

"Attention: état brut!" is a first major art brut exhibition in Canada.

Opening in Montreal on Saturday September 30 at 2PM with a conference by Patrick Cady, sculptor, writer, psychanalyst.

Three collections are converging under the curation of Montrealer Hugues Brouillet to offer a first ever glance at outsider art to the Canadian public. On September 28th, with an official opening and conference on Saturday September 30th, the historical Chapelle du Bon-Pasteur will open its doors to "Attention: état brut!" a collective show of 22 outsiders and hors-normes artists from Canada, Europe and the US.

Curator Hugues Brouillet has chosen to underline the scouting work of two galleries and one museum : Jean-Robert Bisaillon from La Galerie des Nanas, Galerie Robert Poulin in Montreal and Patrick Cady from the new Mansonville Musée de l'Art Singulier.

Among the group of artists shown are the late Jovette Marchessault, Martine Birobent and Daniel Erban, influential names like Danielle Jacqui and Anne-Marie Grgich, the impressive Claire Labonté and many other young yet powerful intuitives.
