...Visitors to Raymond Morris's small apartment in Kilburn, northwest London, can not fail to be affected by his total commitment to his work. The rooms are crammed with paintings, the doors, walls and ceilings all covered with flowing images. Raymond has painted himself into his own world, his own reality, which contrasts strongly with the difficult everyday reality that he has to endure.
Much of his work expresses complex cosmic and spiritual forces that he feels strongly surging around him. These spirits, he claims, have a great influence on his daily life and he expresses them by means of charts and diagrams as well as describing their energy with his paint. At times the sheer power of the spiritual forces he encounters leaves him exhausted, so much so that he feels that painting can have an adverse effect upon him.
This unique book presents works that until now have only been seen in private collections or museum vaults. Works by well known outsider artists and new discoveries express their personal interpretations of sexual desire and activity.
